The official download from our home page shows the latest official version. When a user requests a new feature or needs a bugfix, we often release that version to the forum first. So if you like to use the latest version then go for the one in the forum. But if you prefer to install a version that h...

Topic: Image issue using F6 image as a song background

This is as designed. If you use an image as a background of a song then we stretch it to full screen. This avoids any black borders on the song if the background image does not exactly match the screen resolution. Remember that the screen has a different aspect ratio for 1024×768 and 1280×1024, and ...

This is some sort of visual hint that the text on page 7 is too long. SongBeamer notices that the text on page 7 does not fit on the page and tries to reduce the font size for the song until it fits. Unfortunately this never happens because you forced the font size for that page to 60. In the option...

If you create a script using Tools->Macros, then it should be saved into that folder. You can create pascal scripts like these: Launch Windows Calculator: CreateProcess(getfolder_system+'calc.exe'); Launch Paint or PowerPoint depending on what file is currently open: var Ext: String; begin E...

Topic: What do the HTML tags <align:e> and <align:keep>
Replies: 2

<align:e> means center (just like <align:center>). We added it because Ctrl+E was used in Microsoft Word as shortcut for center. The scope is the current paragraph. There is no </align> because there can only be one alignment for a paragraph. <align:keep> means align with previous paragraph. Use it ...

In SongBeamer we're trying to be more consistant with a text editor than with html, because that is what most of our customers seem to expect. This means a new line will start a new paragraph, and <br> starts a new line. In a song we prefer to have line breaks where they "make sense". I think this i...

The original Quicktime player doesn't seem to allow background movies. My favorite format for moving backgrounds is MPEG-1. This will work on almost any system and has low system requirements. You can find a free sample video here: http://www2.songbeamer.eu/Clouds_02.mpg If you prefer to keep your v...

SongBeamer can do text over video.

What you need to do is add the video to the schedule and open it. Then select "Play video in background" and play the video. You can even play DVDs in the background!

I think this is a good idea.

Dividing the screen into multiple blocks is going to be a problem for some of our customers who cannot afford any additional space at the top of each page. But an option to always show the first line at the same location appears very reasonable to me.

If you want to have two completely independent settings in SongBeamer, then I'd suggest that you create two different users in Windows. Every user will have his own settings and his own set of songs.

Is this an option for you?

Yes, this is one of the new features in SongBeamer 2.25! You need admin rights for the installation, but then you can run SongBeamer from a limited account just as well. If you are upgrading from an older version (2.24 and below), then you will need to "move" your configuration files into a differen...
